Floating DSP

Floating Direct Support Professional - Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking applicants for a full time Floating Direct Support Professional.

The Floating DSP will be responsible for providing direct support services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Fills in for vacant positions, special events, or staff absences and may work in any program operated by the Corporation (Southside and Hampton). DSP will assist with chart reviews, providing training in documentation requirements for other Direct Support Professionals, provide assistance with personal care and training; work with individuals as part of a team, 1 to 1, and in groups; develop and implement individualized service plans; enhance community integration by facilitating community outings; completing required documentation and attending required staff training. Must be available to work between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday thru Friday.

Degree in Human Services or related field, or any combination of equivalent education and experience. At least two years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, to include completing documentation to support billing. Qualified applicants must have the physical stamina to provide assistance to participants and communicate orally and in writing. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., push, pull, and bend and be able to stand for two or more hours. Must be able to drive a multi-passenger vehicle. Pre-employment drug testing, clearance through criminal background investigation, and acceptable driving record required.
