Document Scanner - Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. Eggleston is currently seeking applicants for a part time document scanner at the Military Highway location in Norfolk.
The document scanner will; scan documents into specific client database, perform quality checks to assure all file pages are in digital file and adhere to production quota. Duties will include; resizing and formatting images using imaging software to create a mirror image of the paper documents; verify the scanning task is complete by comparing the electronic version to the paper version.
A high school diploma or general education equivalent is required. Must have the ability to be detail oriented, work independently and as part of a team. Must have basic computer capabilities, be able to read, have basic math skills, and skills in reformatting images for best quality. Basic knowledge of scanning machines. Scanner will work in an office environment and will be required to sit for hours at a time; have the ability to focus, be able to use and manipulate a computer; must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, use hands and fingers; and handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Requires vision and vocal ability. Must be able to use hand tools. Be able to work with individuals with a disability. Pre-employment drug testing and clearance through criminal /security background investigation.
